Day Tour to Stonehenge/Salisbury

Service Description

Departing from Southampton, we will visit Stonehenge first thing in the morning so you can enjoy the site with this special kind of light. Stonehenge has now a modern interpretation centre and a great gift shop so come prepared! I always like to take people around the interpretation centre as well as the actual stone circle because there is so much more to Stonehenge than just rocks. As a historian (and local tour guide) my aim is to help you understand not just why this place is so mysterious and iconic. I want you to leave Stonehenge asking yourself questions about the early civilizations in this country, what they did and why. After our visit to the site we will head to Salisbury which is a quaint market town in Wiltshire, also renown for its beautiful Gothic Cathedral. I studied this cathedral in depth for my history degree so I want to share this with you. Moreover, Salisbury is a great place to do shopping and have lunch/afternoon tea, so you will get a taste of proper England outside of London! An example itinerary (times may vary): 10:00 AM - Departing from Southampton 11:00 AM - Arrival to Stonehenge and Visit 12:30 PM - Departure for Salisbury 13:00 PM - Arrival at Salisbury and Lunch Break 14:00 PM - Visit Salisbury Cathedral 15:00 PM - Free time for shopping in Salisbury 16:00 PM - Departing from Salisbury 17:00 PM - Arrival in Southampton
